Which to use? Might see a 125 shot every now and again. This would be a flat top/ 2 vr in a 360mag

They are both forged.......go with the one that fits your budget and will let you sleep at night........survival is more to due with tune-up than piston........case in point, I saw a guy scorch 2 pistons; Ross; no Nitrous, in a big inch SBC due to bad float setting in his carb

My vote goes to the Icons. They can take a pretty good pounding.

I used wiseco in the 2 stroke 4 wheelers I used to play with , wasn`t overly impressed with them, but no big complaints, after all they were 2 strokes.
I have Icon pistons in my 440/505 , and their as nice as any I`ve ever used, and very consistant in size thru out ---I like em --------JMO

Have used both....never seen a difference....

icon 575 plus cost of rings...
wiseco 404 with rings.....

let me see....
they both weight about the same...

I saw a post where you had a set of the protru's. Did you ever use them?

I asked the question mainly due to the piston material of each. Icon is a 2618, wiesco 4032. Had been shooting 125 on the factory hypers for a long time. Upon teardown had one with the top land broken, and most of the top compression rings broken, truck was still running the same numbers but blowby was so bad it pushed the dipstick out the tube. Im leaning toward the icon, mostly due to the fact that i know nothing about the durability of the wiesco

I will have to go look....as I got 8 engines assemble with two more waiting to be put together....lol

I would not hesitate to use either brand....just the Wiseco have a better price to them.....

Went with the wiesco. 405 delivered from kjperformance. Probably wont be shootin very often, but ill keep the tuneup safe when i do. Thanks for the help

As long as you gap the rings for nitrous use, you should be fine with any of those.

I've broken rings and lands out of forged pistons in a N/A use... so nothing is proof against things going wrong or leaning on them too hard. Forged is more durable but none is a guarantee.... hence post #2.
