Another job grandpa got done today was the fuel filler tube sentry.

This is installed to prevent modern gas pumps from spraying out when full rather than kicking off.

It went well and installed easily……easy for me to say because I didn’t have to do it. Lol.

Grandpa kills it again.

Send grandpa over when he’s finished with jasons car, I got a few things he can do!! :)

Lol. Nope. He traveled for a living. Lol. You have to come to him.

Now that he’s retired he’s happy to be home! Lol.

Very productive day today!!!!

Jason had early release from school today, so we headed over to Grandma and Grandpas early and got cracking!

Grandpa and Jason worked on center console fabrication, and I worked on running the wiring under the carpet and looming the wiring under the center console. Along with wiring a pigtail for the tach wires.

I also cleaned and painted the front splash shields.

Grandpa and Jason knocked it out of the park with the console top plate, and Jason is becoming quite the metal fab artist!!

Our plan is to vinyl wrap the top plate for easy maintenance. Probably in a carbon fiber look.

The finished front splash shields. We did them in truck bedliner coding. It gives them a nice textured finish. Turned out beautiful.

Jason got a good idle clip the other day.

Sounds great!!!!

Dig those UGA DUGAS!!!!!!!!!

First official road testing today!!!!!

Lots of videos to come.

Still trying to get part throttle shift points down. And kick down points right.

But overall good shake down runs.

That cam sounds better than I thought it would. I didn't choose for sound at all. I was lookin for somethin that would pull real strong. How's it do? It sounds fantastic.

It pulls like a freight train!!!!

It’s suprisingly quick. It has a nice flat pull to it.

After these runs I put a lighter secondary spring in it.

I still need to limit total timing in the distributor. It’s around 39 now. But it didn’t seem to ping that I could hear.

The shift points are a little high at part throttle still, but the shifts are nice and firm and super quick.

Thank you again Rob. The cam works great!!!

We also got the fender tag cleaned, painted and installed.

The engine bay is more completed…er…ish. Lol.

That makes me smile. I am really glad yall are happy with it. I was sorta worried that yall might think it was a little too mild. I didn't want to see it overcammed, which you can do easily on a 318. I wanna see it heat the hides.

I agree. You definitely nailed it.

To be honest, it feels, rides, and drives like a stock 340 duster.

It’s very quiet inside.

From an engineering stand point it functions really well as an automobile.

Just some bugs to work out.

But it was the best first drive I’ve ever had!!!
