Roll pin IE split and hollow. You need a big *** punch so you can "get up" where you can swing the thing. May or may not help to remove the battery for a little more elbow room

Got it out with no problem. Three medium taps with my mini sledge on the punch pictured and it shot right out.
Then used my pickle fork as a lever and gently pushed the spline off the coupler. It slid right off. Thanks 67 and the rest of you guys for the replies. Pics.....
