67 dart,, only made one year,,

I have a 67 barracuda. Its got all that one off weird 1 year only **** mentioned above too. I call mine a bastard child. I'm not too cool with the non latching glovebox or the one year only idler arm. When i can get a 67 glovebox door with a lock, i will. Already took care of idler arm issue with a 74 spool mount K. Got the 68-69 rubber and stainless window trims to ditch the cheezy chromed plastic lock strips. Added in a light package with illuminated key hole to the dash. Cant find decent lower door vents, so i may sheetmetal up the holes in the lower part of the doors.

66-68 a body consoles where chrome edged with like an argent silver center. The dash on a 67 Dart I don’t believe was available with wood grain until 68 or even 69. The console had wood grain on it in 69.

Lots are interchangeable on 68 & 69 cause in 68 they changed the firewall, hood, (fenders I think) & windshields glass & steering column. Because the 67 stands alone, with no options for parts from other years, that make it a stand alone car... the term for that is wham trying to remember
Red headed step child?

Thousands of 1967 Darts were made, so I am still not sure what the real question is?

Theres a word that defines a vehicle that is basically an only child so to speak & I cant remember the term. Like clone, if I was describing a car that was a dart 270 dart & I tried to make it into a GT ... JUST CANT REMEMBER THE TERM.
A clone

"worth a million dollars" is the name I think he is lookin for.

"One year only" is the term in my book, just like 67dart273 mentioned many unique parts.

Parking brake handle is more like a 66.
Glove box insert and hinge's
Heater/radio trim no external screws
GT trim had front turn signals mounted on the leading edge of the trim that ran the length of the car.
GT Rocker moldings.

I've heard that but usually used in reference to when someone went out of business, IE Studebaker, AMC, etc

If we made any different ones on the assembly line that were not interchangeable, we referred to them as "orphans"...

If you have to modify a part, (like milling an intake to fit the heads), then the intake is no longer interchangeable with the other engines... You have created an "orphan"...

I fail to see how this is different than any other year model. I don't think there are any two year models that share the same everything.

No don't cover the vent holes... They work so the air can get out the exhausters in the door (Rubber flaps)... They let the pressure out of the interior when the blower is on... Without them, you will get too much back pressure on the blower trying to blow more air in the car when there is no room for any more...

I've always known it as "one year only"

The idler arm setup bracket
Headlight buckets spacing
Tail light mounting size
Tail light assy
Rear bumper.........reverse lamps in bumper
No shoulder harness anchor
No dash VIN
No body VINs (Guess that applies to 68 as well)
No marker lights or reflectors
There is some oddity in the doors/ window regulators? I forget
the ignition switch/ switch mounting
Windshield/ rear glass gaskets and trim strips
Thank you, I didnt know all of those differences. Orphan is the word I was looking for.

Not a one year only body style, but has one year only parts, which can be said for almost any year.

Thanks,,, Orphan was the word I was looking for.
An Orphan car is something like an AMC, Studebaker, Packard, etc.
Cars who's original manufactures no longer exist. Kinda like a kid whose parents have passed. AMC is the best example, in 1987 Chrysler bought up AMC to get to Jeep. They wound up with Renault and Eagle as well in the buyout. Chrysler serviced parts for them until supply was exhausted.
But your car is a 67 Dart, it's a nice Dart, I'd own it, but there is no special category other than antique.

And of course since there is no longer a "Chrysler Corporation", our classics are as orphan as Stude or AMC, regardless of year model LOL

Exactly. It is a nice antique 1967 Dart, but that's all.
