Hey guys I got fabo cause I'm building a big block 72 Dart. Well for the last 6 months I have been having health issues. I'm diabetic and have been for years. Starting having a lot of complications. Been so sick. Lost my job of 29 yrs because of it. I want to build a 500 inch b block. I have a solid lift roller for it. I was going to put the TFL 270 on it. Well my budget has now dropped dramacticly . I have so many parts now . but I don't have a stroker kit. And I don't have heads. I pretty much have everything else. I have a 440 block that's been grouted. I have another complete 440 and 727 still mated together in my garage . and I a virgin 400 short block. I think I can make the same or close to the same power with a 451 or a 470. So what I'm asking is . does anyone have a stroker kit for any of the 3 engines I've listed that they would like to sale. I would love to build this motor if I can afford it. Asking for any help. Would love to buy all new stuff. But they may not happen. I have decided to drop down to the 240 heads instead of the 270. Just need to build this motor on a major short budget. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may have just answered your own question?

If it was compete & running, run whatcha got.

If not, fix it up just enough to run.

That is a true budget built.

None of the engines are runnanable ..will have to build all of them. Which I can personally build . just looking for some parts that no one is using and wants to sell.

Why not throw a 440 crank in the 400 block and run that??? :steering:

Run what you brung kinda thing....

I've thought of that 451 cubic inch. It's a good engine . that's what I'm asking . anyone have a crank already turned. And a set of like 10.5 comp pistons

What about the crank from your complete 440 and 727 still mated together???

Tear into it and look at the rod and main journals.... If there are no marks, throw some fresh bearings in and plastic gauge them...

Check the heads for leaks at the valves and guides and if not, clean them up and run those...

You also may want to look at one of these rebuild kits from Mancini for a start...

The A & B kits have rod and main bearings, rings, and complete gasket kits... The A kit has cast iron rings, and the B kits have moly rings....

The C & D kits are more complete with pistons, oil pumps, rod and main bearings, rings, and gasket kits... C kit has cast pistons, and D kit has forged pistons...

Yes I could do that. I've two 440 cranks in boxes. And I may have to do that. I would like to build the 451 b block. Was just looking to see if someone had a good crank already turned . and some 451 4.375 pistons somewhere in the 10.5 area. I got a lot of stuff I could do. But would like to build a 451 470 or 500 b block

I have a slightly used 500 inch stroker kit for a RB block. I just balanced it three weeks ago. It was orphaned at a shop, which closed and sat in a hydraulic repair shop for years until I made the guy an offer on it. The story I got, and the parts make this seem possible, is that it was built for someone, who had it dynoed and he did not make final payment, so the shop kept it until they went out of business. 4.15 crank, unknown H beam rods, but ARP 2000 bolts, I suspect Ohio Crank for these, pistons are SRP #213459, so you'll have decent compression. 4.375 bore. I will include rings and bearings. I was going to build up a short block and sell that, but I will sell just this for $1250 plus shipping, as I have not acquired a block yet. I do low deck stuff for myself. I've already assembled rods and pistons, so shipping might be a PITA. I'm north of Chicago, on the Wisconsin border. PM me if you're interested, or email at target 1371 at aol(remove spaces, etc) I can include some other stuff that I acquired when I bought it, main studs and some other stuff, but we can discuss if you're interested. S/F....Ken M

have a 500 inch 440 megablock. I am keeping the block. I will sell the rotating assembly crank rods and pistons Cheap. But shipping charges may be a game changer.

Don't ask me what rods or pistons or who made the crank . I didn't look. It was a running fresh motor with Bad heads. that came to the shop and left here. All we are keeping is the block and hardware. I will sell the crank, rods and pistons.

Make me an offer , Pay me, and I will drop them at Fastenal. you pay the shipping when you pick them up. No I am not getting the pallet down for pictures unless you make me an offer that is worth my time. If I would do that I would be working all day for every caller on the fork lift.

Now its your call how serious are you. and do you have the money or just thinking about it. It is a 500 stroker RB . I am willing to work with you. I am also sick and getting close to my expiration date. If you want it don't screw around. Its out in the open now and I won't hold it without commitment so first taker it is out of here. The block isn't going anywhere. My son wants it.

Do you have any idea of the run time on these parts. And yes I do have money to make an offer. But I am not familiar with the shipping that you posted

I'm not either. Someone else tole me about it. I have already shipped motors at "Yellow freight" that is how they did it. You give the closest terminal to the buyer and there info for pickup. Buyer pays shipping on arrival.

You can call me. The engine came from this car. The one with the Hemi scoop. He is a member on here that traded his 440 six pack challenger for the car while going through a divorce. It was in a magazine for a dyno run with this motor before he bought it. I have the magazine.

The last stroker kit I got it was shipped regular ups in to different boxes. That's why I was wondering

Well after the trade the motor started making noise so he called me. the springs coil bound on the heads and broke springs and rockers. The car came with a 440 ready to go???? We freshened it up at the shop. He had us drop the motor in the car . we ended up with the 500 inch motor.

1969383valiant bought the heads and we freshened them up. The motor was originally tore down to rebuild it. But the owner didn't want to spend the money on the parts. so he opted for rings and bearings in the 440. It sits here as it was when taken apart on a pallet on the shelf above the stove. We are building a larger cube boosted motor so these parts are not needed.

My son is a machinist. so when brought down he will get the specs and look at the parts again. He said when I mentioned it that the pistons were no good for boost and the crank was not the stroke he wants for the HP he wants to make.

If it is what you are looking for what do you want to spend? I am offering these parts because I don't need them and will never use them but they are not eating here and hold the heat from the coal stove for a long while. Its a shame I just drove to Grapevine Texas for a car. 21 hrs one way. drove straight through there and back after a 3 hr lay over.

If theses parts were junk they wouldn't be here. If your looking for new parts still in a box cheap. I am not your man. these are cheap parts to work with but they are not new.

Why should I tell you a Penny when you might offer a Dime LOL. I am sure you know the drill. What would you like to pay.

Give me a call PM me for my info if interested.

Forge 8 bolt crank. H-beam rods, forged pistons. Once I get it all down its out of here to the first person with the cash. I am not taking what you offered I don think you could buy the rods for 2 Benjamins. I know I said cheap but you have to come up a little more. My kids are living on crackers and water. The cats are eating the birds. The dogs are eating the cats. And Neighbors are starting to look tasty.

Is that your final offer. My name is not Bernie Sanders.

Here are better pictures of the piston. I didn't want to spend time cleaning these parts the carbon wiped off with thinner. I don't know what brand they are but the may say in the article. I'll bet this piston and rod was $200 new.
