I think my oil pan is either the same or slightly deeper than a stock a body pan ( I've never seen one ) on the shallow part ( the main body ) but I'm pretty sure I figured out why it looked like the dipstick physically wouldn't fit the original pan on it, but I didn't have the old oil pan around and it had been so long since I took it off I couldn't remember what it looked like..
