Install BBM w/headers

Has anyone tried installing a big block with Schumacher Tr-Y's mounted in a '68 Dart? Schumacher web site says the headers can be installed after engine is in the vehicle OR mounted to the engine and dropped in as a unit. Just curious.

You can install the engine from below with headers on but I really doubt you'll be able to drop it in from above with the headers on. I can't see how that would work at all unless the steering column, torsion bars and steering box were removed. You might also need to remove the master cylinder and the heater blower motor.

Pulling the K frame with the full suspension on it isn't too hard once you build a fixture to hold it. Then you can roll the engine and trans in from below with the headers installed. When you do it this way you also have the starter bolted on as well as the alternator and fan belts. Basically a running engine can be installed from below since that is the way the factory designed it to go in. You do have to build some fixtures for this way to work, but once you get it all figured out it sure works nice.
