Stop bolts on Hurst shifter Mechanism

The same for doing 2nd & 4th. The bolt is meant to take the brunt of the shift lever force so that the shift rods don't have to.
That is correct. Chrysler used Hurst shifters but the ONLY ones with stop bolts from the factory were 1964 and 65 B bodies.
The after market Hurst Competition Plus shifters had the stop bolts. I would keep them as there's less tendency to damage stuff when you're banging gears.
