Tach placement

Looking for pics of how guys have there tachs mounted I have a rally dash auto with the coffin center councel and dont want it on the steering column any more
 
Didn't want my tach on top of the dash so this is where it ended up

Most racers want them on top of the dash so we don't have to take our eyes off the track to look at the tach.
 
I don't think the tach has to be right in front of you to see the shift lite.Pretty bright,but I could be wrong
 
Just my personal preference, while I am on the track I try and make my runs idiot proof. I remove as many variables as I can. There is no telling what the nut behind the wheel will do trying to wrestle the car straight down the track. Ask me how I know! Hah!
 
As demonstrated, another little trick is to mount all gauges so that the needle is straight up in normal running mode. That way with only a glance at the gauges, seeing that they all are straight up, everything is normal, let's get back to racing.

Did that trick back when I used to race regularly. Works!:thumbsup:
