Everybody knows triple-r works at O'Reilly's! And hey now you're busted my nuts...
Haha I didn't know that. I kinda suspected it but I never came out and asked. I tried to PM you but your box is full!
If you want one of the Ebay ones let me know I will buy it with my PayPal (yes I have PayPal its 2019 Hahaha) and just ship it to you. I may be able to ship it directly from the seller. Let me know.

You never came out and asked if triple-r worked at O'Reilly's but you asked 318 has valves that will fly if he was going to use those junk heads!? I almost died when you said that...

Lol
But he is indeed using the junk heads is he not?

Well he doesn't think so, that's all that counts. I really like him a lot I don't know why bust his nuts so much..
Yea I like him too!
I thought he had the valve seats recut and replaced in those heads? Or we talking about 2 different heads?

Its ironic that you posted this thread today because I have been thinking alot about my carb situation and have considered starting a thread about carbs but wasnt sure what to say. My Holley needs a rebuild and I dont really know about my rebuilding skills. If it was just any engine I wouldn't think twice about it but it worries me since the first time starting is gonna be on break in! I dont know about setting timing setting the carb and watching for pushrods turning watching temps oil pressure etc all at the same time with a unknown carb that I rebuilt is a good idea! Ok bust away. Lol

No really have a good concern there. I always liked using a carburetor or carburetors that I've ran previously. Maybe there's someone close by or one that you can run on a friend's motor for just a little bit to make sure it's just working decent cuz yes you don't want to be timing oil pressure break in this and break in that it's going to make you bananas..

I have thought about buying a new carb I dont really know anyone that would have one to loan. I dont know a lot of car guys locally.

It would be nice if I could could rebuild the carb I have and then find an engine to try it on first. Get it tuned then stick it on mine.

What carburetor do you have?

No the carb hasn't been on an engine in 15+ years the engine is getting completely rebuilt it will be a fresh engine when its complete

It is probably best on a new build to go with a known good carburetor at first. That way you will stand a better chance at a successful break in.
