True enough. I still split with a maul. But at 55 yrs old I try to only do so much and walk away. I could usually keep going but then the shoulders feel like they are coming out of their sockets next morning.

I hear you. I'm almost 60. I only split for a 1/2 hour or so at a time. And I'm in no hurry.
