What's the simplest way to remove axle that is stuck in housing by bearing that seems to have rusted..any help would be greatly appreciated. trying to remove it without investing in an axle puller...if I had a longer axle to push thru other side to knock it out maybe? Can post pics tmro

get a length of chain and attach each end to a lug nut and snatch it out.

Nice ...will try in the a.m...sounds great..dont know how its rusty...maybe hung on clip that some have

If your arm isn't enough, hang the biggest ball peen hammer in the chain and yank on it with that.

Got a five pound sledge if needed..I thank you very much for this info..spent 2 hrs.prying with cheater bar!!!wtf

That bad boy will get it out then. You get that chain on there and hang that sledge in there and give it a few yanks. You best not be standin in front of that axle. LOL

All this yanking talk! LOL it sounds like you have lots of experience....

Seein as I never have had a lot of money, I have had to find alternative ways. Although now I do have a slide hammer.

Did you invert the drum and thread the lugs partially and use the drum like a slide hammer?

Yeah I actually used this method when I pull the the pump out of the front of a automatic transmission.

I'm also pulling my green bearing axles soon and may need a little yanking action myself LOL...

I used a loaner slide hammer from Autozone.

Rusty, you sound like me , i am a sledge hammer mechanic, if that West Virginia fit all (crescent wrench) won't fix it, get a big hammer!

I have always used a ball pen hammer, hit the axle straight on the flange. That breaks the suction and the ale comes out.

Thanks for the great info guys fixing to fab up a snatch!!

Gonna try it!!!! Hopefully yours wont be like this j par.. first set I've ever had to stick like this
