took about 5 minutes to setup. I'm probable going to try to cut a few out of my scrap just to see if it's workable ... are the threads 1/4-20 ?

ah yes! The original is probably flat and they stick the blue part on top. I have to make things like that for work, my guess is its back printed (blue and metallic) on clear TPR then glued on top of the pentagon shaped aluminum. I think for yours you could probably figure a way to mask the star off, spray the base blue, then fill the center void up with some kind of clear epoxy.
