Car title

I have built 3 rat rods here in the state of Florida from scratch. And titled each one different.

#1. First one I titled with an AFP title (assembled from parts) Had to fill out a few forms from the DMV and have receipts for all major components such as engine, trans , rearend, along with some from the parts stores. Make an appointment for an inspection with a DMV inspector from Tallahassee . She came to my local DMV (it took a few weeks) made the inspection, looked over the receipts. Tallied up sales tax that she felt I owed ( on the used swap meet parts ect.) Gave me a new AFP title. No safety inspection what-so-ever.

#2 Bought a 39 chevy body (front half of a 4 door) with front sub frame And it had a title. Built the rat rod and just used the title that came with car. No ??? asked!

#3 Built 3rd rat rod , got a title from a guy for a 31 ford sedan. Made VIN tag myself had some lady notarize some form ( maybe from DMV, can't remember) stating VIN tag matched title. (She had no clue what she was looking at). Took old title and notarized form to DMV for new title and tags . The lady at the DMV had to verify the VIN tag out in the parking lot saw the rat rod asked me what part of this thing is the 31 ford. Blew some smoke up her *** and got A new title and plates.

So it can be done in Florida.Well this was about 7 years ago.
They do the AFP title alot on home made boats , trailers ,Bikes ect. Kinda pain in the butt .
