What the f’n trick to get the tail shaft clip spread far enough apart

Never be afraid to by the best, you won't be disappointed. My blue points are over 45 years old. Just used them Friday on a 727 tailshaft.
 
Those are the ones that I used on my tranny, after screwing around and trying to figure out an easy way, and not finding it!

I BELIEVE that is the one I have now and modified it to "get a little more" I believe I pulled the spring out of it, and maybe cut back the handle plastic
