Del does not follow his own advice, AKA Cummins Whale

I had a ‘02 before I bought my ‘15. The best thing to do is to add a fuel pressure and exhaust temperature gauge to it along with a fuel pump upgrade (unless the pump has already been upgraded). Then add a simple TST programmer and J-hook to the waistgate and it will have the power of the 07 trucks. The TST programmer that I had was under the hood and had 3 positions that you set manually.

Thanks, I may be asking you some more questions!!!! I already found some advice on the www that you should watch the lift pump pressure to prevent failures on the injection pump

The ironic thing is, that way back in the 80's we used to sell EGT gauges to the local truckers at the store where I worked. This was before there existed any/ many/ the start of diesel light trucks. There were guys around here doing diesel swaps into mostly Ford heavy F250/ F350 pickups. There were several, a Detroit of some sort, a V6 Cummins, One buy put a turboed 4 banger Cat in one, some of them went nuts buying transmissions, gears, and rear axles.

Two of them got into trouble............They had slip tanks for the logging equipment fuel, and PLUMBED THE SLIP TANK right into the main pickup fuel system. The ol no tax pink dyed fuel.....................Somehow they got stopped by DOT or whoever...............
