I have a good one. They have the larger sector shaft splines. mine is $60 plus shipping.

Manual steering boxes are all the same size pitman arm shafts. So 62-76 are the same. A-B-E are the same size. Power steering boxes had a small up to 1972 and a large sector 1973 -up.

The pitman arm and center link were different on 1973 -up in that the pitman arm stud pointed down. 1972 and earlier pointed up.

So any box will work i just have to buy a 73 pitman arm to fit my centerlink?

Later boxes had a bigger shaft. Went through this when I switched my 74 duster from power to manual. Ordered correct pitman arm and had an earlier box and it wouldn't fit on the splines. Went and found a manual box in a 73 up duster and it went on perfect.

Ok thank you that is odd the mixture of info I have heard both. Some say all manual have same size shafts?!?
Did you order the 74 manual pitman arm and it wouldn't fit?

Reread post #2. Send him money. Get steering box.
We are talking on PM. I want to make sure I get the right one the first time I'm talking to another guy about a centerlink.
In another thread a member told me that he had first had experience with a small shaft manual gearbox and his 74 pitman arm wouldn't fit. So I am either gonna have to get the larger pitman arm or the centerlink either way I'm ok with that.

No he is mixing info from P/S boxes to manual boxes. I'll state once more 62-76 Manual boxes are the SAME!

Use you existing steering linkage. It will clear the oil pan better then the early stuff and it's design for your K member with the spool mounts.

I wasnt aware there was a difference when I bought my manual box. I was also told they were all the same. I ordered the correct pitman arm for my year car and it was for a larger diameter sector shaft. Went and found another manual box in a 73+ duster and it had the larger diameter shaft. I'm going to guess they aren't as common as the earlier. Seems most of the later model a bodys got power steering.

You can disagree all you want I personally went through it all. Even had compaired it to an earlier one. Box looked exactly the same but sector shafts were different sizes.

There is a larger shaft manual in the later years it says in that article. I bet that Is what you had.

I'm just telling you from my personal experience on switching my own car over from power to manual. The pitman arm I ordered was a new manual arm I believe from moog. I had acquired the manual box I first got from a buddy. It was a small sector shaft box. My new arm would not fit it. I personally went to a salvage yard and pulled one off of a 73+ duster. Both shafts were measured and the one pulled off the duster was bigger. They were kind enough to swap manual boxes with me. It's on my 74 duster now with new pitman arm. Is it possible yours could be small sector? Possibly I suppose. The link shared shows a difference in the top covers of the large and small sector boxes. Mine shares the same top cover as the small sector box.

Your best bet would be to order the correct pitman arm for your car and measure the inside diameter. Then buy the correct box you need to fit it.
