Hey all,
I can't seem to find this information on here but I'm trying to find out what finish that the dash, doors and sail panels came in originally on a 71 demon.
The fender tag shows GB5 exterior and GB7 for the interior color and It looks as if the dash was a flat finish on the little I can find from removing the windshield.

Would the doors and sail panels be painted gloss like the body or were they flat as well? Everything is painted black right now so there's no signs of the original finish.

Oh and would the top of the doors have matched the exterior color or be the same as the rest of the interior?

Thanks in advance,
Carl

Are you trying to do a 100pt resto?

I like a semi or flat finish on the interior or mix it up on surfaces.

I've done black doors or painted the door body color. I would not mix the 2.

My latest favorite thing to do is take the parts for black powdercoat. Ample choices in sheens and even textures and crazy durable.

Here are some ideas and examples to look at

Man I forget to look at the hamtramck site. Duh. Thanks for the photos as well. I'll have to look into the powder coating too. Great idea.

Thanks guys!

Gloss on the door frames. Same color as the interior.

Suede powder coat for the dash. You don't want gloss there because of sun light reflection and you want it to be durable because it's not something you can just pull off and paint real quick. My Duster has an original dash and it feels a little rough and grainy like some powdercoats. It's not smooth to the touch.
