A500 swap into 1967 Barracuda fastback

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Over the course of the next few weeks I will do my best to document my A500 swap into my ‘67 Barracuda. This last weekend I completed basic inspection of the 1991 a500 that was harvested from a dodge Dakota with a V6. The doner vehicle had a dash fire so mileage was unknown. We rigged external wires to the tranny for OD and Lock up and it shifted as it should.

Here are a few pictures of the US Car Tool A518 A500 bracket over the OD section. I hope it is mocked up
in the correct orientation. My unit was purchased from another FABO memeber and it didn’t come with instructions. I used pictures from the US Car Tool website as reference.

When I test fit the tranny in the vehicle we will see if any transmission case grinding will be needed to center the tranny mount bracket to the cross memeber

There is a slight interference between the tranny bracket and the sheetmetal on the tranny bushing (GM stud-type transmission mount #10473052). I’ll wait to see it all installed and shimmed for drive line angles before grinding any metal to provide clearance or if flipping the bracket will make an easier install without loosing ground clearance.
