590 cam installation tips

6 degree retard- sounds like a description of me
first determine if the cam is ground on the timing marks- many are not to fit a big lobe on available cores- do you own this cam?
if you have it installed already post up your times if you have them and cranking compression- the retard and post again
bvvc on piston to valve clearance (and retainer to guide)
second I've retarded that much with low low gears and high rpm strip only build
also you should have max compression as your dynamic compression will take a hit
especially with a wider LCA
I wrote this before RRR posted- but he is so correct- post up the rest of the combo and head flows if you have them
That's a lot of lift for iron rockers BTW
we ran tall valves/ springs and relocated shafts
i would not run roller rockers (or Iron) without talking with B3
