Steve, Oldmanmopar is right, "real trucks don't have sparkplugs"

Diesels are made for using and going miles, yes they cost more to buy, new or used, and upkeep is more, BUT they are made to pull and use. Hauling the kiddies, golf cart trailers, and groceries, then gas is it!
I can remember hauling the 16 ft stock trailer with father in law back in 1969. He had a 64 chevy 1/2 ton, six, and we hauled 3 broodmares up the road 5 hours in it!!
