Why would anyone need a 308?

Nice rigs! I may do a little scrounging out in the shop this weekend, who knows I might be able to rustle up a nice shooting 308 for a photo! My wife shoots and hunts with me as well. We went Elk hunting (tent) for our honeymoon. She goes nuts for Elk. She dropped her last one at 520 yards. I made 5 trips up the mountain wearing a pack board and rocking a caver light. She just simply cannot, and I mean never, shoot anything up on top. Pick the nastiest ravine and that is where she will drop her deer etc. By the third trip I had Elk slime all over me and smelled like a buffet table to every wolf or Griz for miles. I was so tired I was thinking to myself I come home from the desert alive and I am going to die on side of mountain with a Elk haunch strapped to my back. It was take three steps and rest kind of steep. I was so tired I was thinking if a wolf jumps on me I wouldn't fight back just put me out of my misery! She did however just buy me a nice little Colt for my birthday. Reckon I will keep her!
