So my question is has anyone ever had to install hand controls for gas/brake in a 1970 dart or anything similar in style? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I haven't installed any but I did remove a few and they were pretty basic and you should be able to modify a modern set found in some minivans to work in your Dart. There was a guy here who had a set in his RT B body and it was very similar to the set I removed from a minivan.

Do you still have any sets left?

My dad had hand controls on this very Dart in my picture-thigy-ma-jig off to the side there<<<<<<<<. A place in ,I believe , Mentor Ohio specialized in them.Mobility Specialties maybe?????? was the name. Sorry I don't know for sure as my dad has been gone since 2005 but let me reassure you -he hand hand controls all the way back to the 70's on his cars(they were all Mopars too)and the cars retained the ability to be driven without using them also. Amazing man.my dad.........

The set I removed came out of my parents mini van got packed away and put in storage when they moved. I hit a lot of junk yards and will keep an eye out for a set for ya

I may have a few sets in the garage. I know when I was younger, I was always looking for a spare set for my 65 Valiant and 64 Fury. Been paralyzed for over 30 years.

^ that's pretty much the same as the modern set up. I think the ones from mini vans are slightly longer and will need some mods

I have taken a couple out too, but it’s been over 10 years. We’re in my buddies cars. The 71 swinger I put built 440 into. The 75 duster I have now. Kim

You guys can sure adapt! I worked with a guy that had one arm (Lefty) and still finished a sanctioned 300 mile desert race 30 years ago on a 500cc dirt bike! He had to prove to them that he could ride one handed, ended up doing a tabletop in front of them off a 6 foot lip. Guy was something else.
