Ford 8.8 Junkyard Score

If you would have got one from a Ford ranger, you wouldn't need to cut it down, it's already the A body width. The only thing about rangers is they had drums and disk is very rare from a ranger.

The explorer ones need to be cut down but 99.9 percent of the time have disk brake setups.

I opted for a ranger 8.8 because I don't mind having the drums and plus I don't have to cut it down, just get it into the car.

I bought this one for my valiant wagon it's 56.5" wide which is an inch or so narrower than a stock a body. For an early A I think it will accommodate a wider tire

Thats good to know they fit uncut from a ranger. Do the spring perches line up, or do you have to cut and move em? Be aware though, the axles dont direct swap from an exploder to a ranger. Rangers use a 28 spline axle same as ford passenger car. Explorers are 31 spline same as F150.
