Looking for pics of an original bench 4 speed.

Preferably a year with the short Hurst stick.
Without the boot would be nice too.

Below is a 67. The hole is offset, the stick is centered with no bend left or right.

not sure if I have a picture, but 70 Dart bench seat with 9" straight stick came up just to the top of the seat. ended up using a 15"(?) straight version.

@ClydeT, that looks fairly tall, is it in a comfortable position?
Do you know what # is stamped on the handle?

My understanding is the Hurst shifters that came stock starting in 68 have a bend towards the passenger side, which seems strange to me.

The numbers on the handles are 7926, 7036, and 5973. Took the pic below from fabo, but I didn't see a bend towards the passenger side at first glance, but apparently it's there.

I'm trying to recreate the height and placement in the 67 push in shifter pictured above, but with a 2 bolt handle shifter.

I'm 5'11" and mine is very comfortable. It measures 15" from base to top of ball. It's a Hurst but don't see any numbers.

Brewers doesn't have bench shifters, only console.

Do the sticks posted curve or are they straight?

You might look back at Brewers site they have OEM restored handles, with pics they list for 71 up ,68, 69-71, 64-5, all A body non console. If you call and tell them what you are trying to do, I bet they can guide you in right direction. Yes the hole in the hump is offset.

You are correct, they have a replacement handle for an a-body, the longer one that bends up where the ones pictured above end, and sometimes restored handles, for $350+.

The restored ones appear to have that bend to the right.

Below is a pic, and here is the thread:

That helps greatly.
It looks like it kicks out, possibly to clear your leg, and comes right back, so the ball ends up above the boot as if it was straight.

At $350 and up, I still got to believe there is a new Hurst stick that can fit, even if it needs to be bent below the boot, at a fraction of the cost.

I still like this short one, but it's push in, and I have a 2 bolt shifter.

These shifters will appear on Feebay, but best bet is advertise here under parts wanted..
Handles costs x, box costs x, rods costs x, hump costs x, boot costs x , you know.

Man I loved those Pioneer decks!
We all had those decks. Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Boston, Foreigner, Slade, Rush, Montrose, ETC. All with the equalizer turned up cruizing the circuit looking for a race, While smokin a joint of some good columbian waiting for our draft numbers to be pulled . Yeah those were the days.

Does anyone know if a push in stick will fit into a 2 hole shifter?

I know the push in would need 1 if not 2 of the holes drilled.
