Hey all,

I’ve got a ‘63 Valiant, and a ‘64 Dart. Both are four door sedans, and both need some sealing. I’ve seen the “correct” stuff for doors floating around, but only for the fronts. Anybody have a line on functional door rubber? I don’t care if it isn’t color coded to my interiors. Nothing else on these cars will give the concours guys a stiffy, just looking to keep the big chunks out. Will the door rubber for my ‘86 W-150 work? It just clips on the seam like the fancy stuff. What other cars share the A body profile? Can I buy it in a roll? What about trim to length window felts? What’s the cheapest way to keep my face and feet dry with my doors shut, and my windows up? It’s hard to drive with a 20 degree wind blowing your hair in your eyes through your closed door..

Help?

Thanks.

I appreciate that. I’m looking for something a little cheaper, and less correct though. I don’t need the colored cloth.. pure functionality. Just wondering if somebody’s used something that works.

Hey Matt - yes, I agree that the stuff from restorations Specialties is not cheap - bought enough for all 4 doors for my wagon. Looks like I won’t be using all of it since I’m converting the wagon to a 2 door sedan delivery so there’ll probably be enough for at least 1 door.

Alternatively, I’ve seen the same stuff in black in JC Whitney. When I get around to my 87 D100, I’ll get it from Whitney.

Go to Rock auto in the universal section. Got mine by the foot. You have to know the profile of it

look at S-10 chevy truck weather stripping or the 1st get 80-93 dodge ram, s-10 is a bit thicker, dodge ram a bit stiffer but both will work. ohh and cheap! I'm color matching the Windlasce using bulldog adhesive promoter and Sems vinyl paint.

if you go universal, then look for at least 5/8" bulb or (3/4 is closer to original since my original mic'd out at .8281 but was thinner rubber) and whiskers Sill Weather Whisker Strip
there is cheaper out there. just the first hit on google
