Sweet looking quest!! what did you do for the rear suspension? Details on the build?
Thank you ! To be honest I never had the time to post it on the forum with all the details, but will do it in the near future.

Mine has a 12 bolt chevy rear end with four link suspension

Sweet rig! That motor fits so well. I would love to see a build thread or even just a thread with pics and details.

Thanks !!. Will add it to the forum in the coming days

This is a 31 spline explorer axle that i shortened to use a pair of passenger stock axles. I also turned up a pair of press on adapters that allow the stock axles to have press on big 9" bearings so that i can do away with the c clips because of the spool.

Your car is coming along great. I am building a 91/96 Dodge Dakota and just got a 8.8 for it. I am wanting to do the same thing to mine. Intrested in making another set of axle bearing adapters?

@mopar65

To be honest if i had to do it again id just spend the money to have a set of axles made from moser. I think a custom set is around $250.

But ill dig through my notes and see if i can find the blueprint i made to cut them from. If i can find it ill be more than happy to send you a copy.

Got the rear end all setup inside, then moved onto running new brake lines on it. Upon final test fit of the brakes i realized i measured a little wrong but it was an easy fix. Had to turn an extra bearing retainer into a shim and stack another retainer ontop of it. Everything is tigth now and thw caliper is lined up on the center of the rotor. Just waiting on my other 2 calipers to show up and i can wrap this up and get it back under the car.

Also took some time to clean up the trunk and get a fresh coat of paint on some things. Also got the front brakes finalized and installed on the car. It now has 12.5" crown vic rotors, twin piston camaro pbr calipers, and ss braided hoses all mounted on factory conquest spindles.

Also started building a bracket to mount the dual pump/filter combo. More to come on that one in the next few days.

Ill have to get some pics of the Drift cars at the track Im working at, right up your alley. Man these cars are fun to look at as they are not quite corporate yet (although many are $60K+) with still a little backyard engineering, but 100% awesome to listen to on the track. Lots of LS power, turbos, a rotary and even an electric Drift Camaro this year. Well see......

Finally got all my parts for the rear end to get it all wrapped up. It is now sitting under the car. Once i modify the ladder bars it will all be installed back in the car making it a roller again.

Update time:
Havent been able to work on the car much but ive gotten a few things done since the last post.

Rebuilt my homemade blowthrough carb with a billet baseplate and a pair of holley xp bowls, got the entire intake setup painted and mocked up.

While the rear end was out i modified the ladder bars to allow articulation of the top bar to get rid of binding while adjusting and it no longer has to be removed from the rear end to be adjusted.

With those finished i was able to get the rear end back into the chassis and everything bolted up.

Also got around to having my driveshaft balanced. It started out life as a crown vic drive shaft that i then shortened and used a conversion u joint to put the 904 yoke on it.

Thats about it for now.

Man great job on the car. Speaking of the crown vic drive shaft. Can you list the part number for the 904 yolks conversion . I am going to use a crown vic drive shaft for my Dakota build

I can't tell you how many people I have recommended Oregon cam grinding to on this form and elsewhere. Instead of emailing or calling one of these big cam companies and getting one of their phone jockeys you actually get Ken himself there at the shop where the cam is being ground and he walks through old school and not only grinds them but races them as well...
anyways I figured I better say something so I get a notice when new post come up, enjoying this thread....

This is the 2nd cam they have done for me, i love the service you get from ken. He has always been incredibly helpful providing any info i needed and giving sound advice when selecting grind profiles. I wont go anywhere else for my camshaft needs.
