Slant 6 dies when driving

Is there any value in buying an old electronic ignition tester or just go ahead and start replacing things?
For sure, next time you see old testers (dwell meter & timing light) at a garage sale, pick them up for $2. If you start replacing stuff, I suggest changing to a GM 8-wire HEI system. It will trigger w/ your e-distributor. That will replace your Mopar ECU and coil, and eliminate the ballast. Stronger spark and better wiring. 85-95 GM V-8 pickups in any junkyard. Many posts. Can buy a new kit from TrailBeast here. That is if you don't worry about staying original, which is impossible anyway for a 73+ slant with their growing emissions clutter that can't be purchased.
