Hi y’all! I’m a newb from Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. Living on the Prairie....you know what they say, the wind doesn’t blow in Idaho....Washington sucks! Jk. I grew up in Washington, it’s a great place to be from. I’ll never leave Idaho.

On to my post...I bought one of my dream cars this week. ‘67 Barracuda notchback. My fathers’ best friend has had this car for 18 years. I’ve wanted a notch since I saw one at 14 years old. He bought it and let it sit for 12 years before he did anything to it. He’s a car guy, always buying and selling and working on stuff. It took him 5 years to build this car, slowly but surely. He took a few shortcuts here and there but it’s a solid car, there’s a few issues but it’s a driver.
I turned wrenches in high school and after, I’ve had the whole gamut of muscle cars, my first car was a 59 Jeep Willy’s Wagon when i was 12 years old. My high school driver was a 63 Ford Falcon, then a 72 Chevelle. I’ve had 66 Chevelle, 67 Mustang fastback, 55 Chevy short box, 55 Dodge short box, 65 Galaxie, 79 Firebird Silver Anniversary, 73 Duster w/6, 78 Buick LeSabre....and like a short-sighted idiot, I sold them all...anyway, I used to be a decent wrencher. Now I’m an older (44) tired contractor who wants to relive the follies of my youth and I bought my notchback....
I’ve been reading the forums for the last 6 months or so, and have gained a lot of wisdom from these pages. I’m going to be changing some stuff in the notch, like converting to a console shift and buckets, fixing the sloppy steering box, fixing the faulty gauges, making it a reliable driver. The engine is rebuilt, it’s got about 300 miles on it in the last 2 years, but it’s not a barn burner. It sounds hefty! It’s a pretty laid back cruiser tho. Not sure I could burn out on a wet paved road! So I’ll be doing a few upgrades there as well...paint isn’t perfect, there’s some fisheyes in the clear coat and overspray on the grill and such...it’s a 30 foot car. Looks amazing from 30 ft, not perfect by any stretch up close. So I’ll be bending some ears about how to do a lot of the above mentioned work in the coming months and years I assume.

Thanks for this forum! It’s beem amazing reading about all of these Mopars!!! I hope to be a contributing member for years to come!

Welcome to the site, jump in and enjoy!
There's lots of good people on here, even some that live near you.
I used to stay with some friends in Post Falls in the early '80s when i went to Spokane bracket racing every second weekend.
Love that area!

I actually live closer to Post Falls, my address is Post Falls but most people only know of CDA, so that’s how I let people know what area I’m from! I love it here too, I’ll never leave!

I live in CDA, sent you a PM. Welcome to the crew "I was" gonna go do some things to the "new 01 cummins" this morning, but....................rain......

Ya. Rain. We are headed to Sandpoint this morning to see my in-laws. In the rain...oh well...it’ll be sunny and amazing soon enough I guess

Welcome new guy!!! I hope it has stopped snowing and raining your way!! I was blaming you guys up there for our wettest winter ever here.
It has stopped snowing thank the Lord! Stopped raining?....not so much. It had been beautiful weather for the last couple of weeks, now it’s wet, grey, and chilly. Nice beer cheese soup in a bread bowl and coffee with a nip of good whisky weather! It’ll be sunny and warm in a few weeks! There’s no more beautiful place in the world than North Idaho in the spring and summer, IMHO...

Have a friend that has been to the Back to the Fifties show in Minneapolis a few times, he says it's almost impossible to see everything, so many cars there.

Kinda the same here, but I’m sure you’ve been to Sandpoint. It’s not a huge town, but literally every street is packed with cars...it’s pretty awesome

Yup, been there a couple of times, the scenery around Sandpoint and CDA is very reminiscent of Northwestern Ontario, my wife spent summers there until she was about 13, and I was fortunate to visit the area many times as I lived only about 2 hours away. We have been to CDA for weekends a couple of times, and look forward to spending more time there.

Welcome from Poulsbo, WA. Been through Sandpoint on the way to Glacier a number of years ago, and Silverwood a couple times.

Nice looking B'cuda you've got.
