Perfect in my book. Many like more of a hot rod engine and put in something bigger. 318's are easy to come by but aren't a whole lot bigger than a 273 in stock form. You can stroke them to 390+ cubes for lots of performance. 340's are getting hard to come by but are a great engine. 360's are easier to find. They were used in many (most) trucks and in basically stock form can be a hand full. It all depends what you want.
I think I’ll keep it a cruiser for now. I’m one of the lucky sperm crowd in that I already have a ‘68 RoadRunner that is going to be given to me by my father when he is done driving it. It’s a pretty hopped up 383/727 package, and it screams. It’s a couple years away from sitting in my garage however. I can wait... :-)
