The drivers really worked back then, drove the $hit out of them!!

I have met Herb several times at the New Orleans Mopar Show he is a regular there. Great guy, very approachable and loves car talk. Drives his GENIII Hemi powered 57chrysler 300c convertible. Great post.

True legends! Very cool stuff.
On a side note, does anyone recognize those seats?

Those cars were trick, so trick Herb told me (with a smile) when his car went thru tech....he would never be anywhere near it.

Wonder what he meant by that????

Back in the 90s while Herb was still around he walked me thru a W2 engine build.
I had never heard of some of the vendors he told me to contact... Norris rockers .. Tubular Auto headers..
What a nice guy ! Said something about him being involved in the W2 developement.

he is a treasure.....very nice to talk to but I would not want to get his nose open. We are lucky he is willing to share..... some.....of his racing knowledge and secrets with us

I have Ronnie's son Dean Sox friended on Facebook. He's always postin cool old pictures of his dad's and others cars.

I sure gave some serious thot about that paint job back when we painted mine. I originally wanted 2 dents taken out of the roof, and a little refinishing where I stretched the wheel wells. But the painter /friend I used wanted to make a show car out of it , he did an excellent job, and I like it , but I`ve scratched it in a couple places , and the trunk trim, door handles and drivers side mirror still need replaced .
I`m refining things now, GOTTA QUIT SPENDING $$ ON IT !

-- Yeah they were the cars to beat, until nhra succumed to bill Jenkins pissing and moaning because he couldn`t beat them for a couple of yrs. Walley Parks even apologized to Sox quite a few yrs later / " matter of record! " --
-- Did they run in the same class ?
