69 cuda finish panel

when I install the rear trunk finish panel on the trunk lid , I can’t get the key all the way in to open the lock , anyone have the same problem ?

Got a close-up picture we can see? Possible that the center of the panel is bowed out and is not sitting flush with the trunk lid, therefore lock cylinder is not recessed deep enough into the trunklid.
 
Mine had the same problem when I replaced the trunk panel. It had been hit in the rear before and the trunk was pushed in. The lock was about 1/2 to 1 inch below the level of the new trunk panel. I think I used a bolt & some washers & a come along to pull it out. It bent it up a little, but on a 69 the panel covers the entire back of the trunk lid so it didn’t matter.

Lol, mine is no where close to that , the round head of the key hits the panel first , guess I will have to find out if the tabs are bent out or something ??
