NHRA is in town this weekend and I can't decide if I want to go or not. Two tickets plus snacks, souvenirs, and assorted crap I buy is sure to equal well over $200.00. Anybody been to one of these things? Is it worth it?
In a word, Yes!
I tell kind of non car people (very mildly interested) to go to one at least once in there life. Just once. And if your going with the idea that I’m only gonna do this once, spend some money without care. Buy a hat, get a few hot dogs, get a key chain, purchase a pit pass (is that all inclusive these days?)
Take a walk around manufacturers row, watch the big boys take down and reassemble the engine & car. Grab a seat at the line, then midway & once again at the finish line.
Top fuel/funny cars racing? You might want to bring/purchase ear protection. The over the head units I like best.
