let's start a thread (with pics) of all the available a body model car kits. Amt, Ertl, Polar Lights, Monogram, Johan, Dealer promos and even Die Cast. I'm personally looking for a four door body so I can build a '73. Any other modelers out there?

Good idea as long as the thread doesn't turn into a sale thread.

I'm not wanting it to be "sale", more "this is what was made, this is a variant"
Ya me neither but I know how threads can go sideways. All it would take is the interested party to send a private message. Let's see where it goes. I'm an old modeler myself. Haven't built one for decades.

What year are you looking for?

I have an early 4 door Valiant.

I believe it' Revell.

Have never seen another one.

okay, I'll start. johan made these, the three in one looks suspiciously like a reboxing of the first two

and the street darts, some of these have parts trees from the race versions

I have that 62 Dart (which is technically a B body) but it's a 4 door hard top (not sedan).

I have this 74 Duster, which had been missing the real hood for decades.
Finally got a resin repop from ModelHaus before they closed up.
I made the "A body" scoop from the scoop that comes with the MPC 66 Charger.

Second from the back, next to the Imperial (of death) is IIRC a 62 Lancer.
It's missing parts as well. I believe it's Revell, and has provisions for a string line and DC can motor! The hood from the Valiant fits on it perfectly. I should have bought the missing parts from ModelHaus. They had them but I had already spent $50.

I don't yet see the 69 Barracuda (third from bottom, right).

They had a 68, but IIRC the tooling was updated to the 69, so the 68 can never be molded again.
I believe early runs of the 69 still had 68 side markers.

You could probably make a Demon out of the LA Dart hood and grill and a Duster body.

I wonder if you can get a resin trunk lid to use on that LA dart?

That Daytona T top was fun.

I had the real car.

Used styrene strip cut and filed to make the trim, then filled the void with putty.
That was in 1991. Just last year I bought the T top glass off ebay to help finish the job.

Just got this '65 Valiant from Bandit Resins. A little spendy but I have wanted to build my first car for years. Thought I had found an exact replica of the '68 340 my Dad and I put in it but came to find out RGE had closed up shop. Maybe one will pop up or else I'll make do.

I built quite a few models, back in the day. Way back in the day (early 1960's) and even though a lot of my old stuff disappeared, I still seem to have some. Then, in the 70's, I decided to get them out & try to get some progress made, on them. Only thing is, I don't think I had ever seen an A body model. most all of my models are B body. Closest I have, is a Volare' road runner ("F" body?) does anyone build a '71 or so Dart? I am slowly working on trying to get models of the cars, I have had, over the years. I haven't made much progress on getting them built, but I hope to eventually get there. Interesting, to see those posted here.

Yeah, my niece's husband told me about a resin early A body that he bid on, on E-Bay, but did not come close to winning. Whats the going price for one of those?

When I was a kid , I would use my allowance to get a kit every week. I had so many, I would start taking the older ones get em hot with a Bic lighter and smash a couple together to make em look like they where wrecked. I sure miss the smell of Testors glue !
