I think people get wrapped up in having the strongest possible 833 in existence.. How many people do you know who've actually busted one? I suspect not many.
As far as the OD units, if it's aluminum (which I "think" they all are?), you need to make sure the counter shaft support in the case is not worn. if it is, it can be bushed. Probably a good thing anyway.
The 833 is a stinking beast of a transmission.
