Hey guys I decided I'm gonna go with a thermoquad carb for my 360 build I was curious about the air cleaner for them they look like a different design to me what air cleaner will fit a thermoquad?? I have a standard aftermarket 14x3 or whatever you get from advance auto. It's the one in my profile pic. Will it ?? Because it dont look like it will to me. What do yall recommend?

it should fit. just about any 4bbl breather will work as long as its not too low profile and interfere with linkage

The TQ has the standard opening but some air filter bottoms do not fit or clear properly. If you get a stock 4bbl. air cleaner or a MP air cleaner, it will fit, clear and just plain flat out work.

Interference is usually from the accelerator pump arm. I've used a K&N drop base but had to beat a large dimple into it for the pump arm. Then make sure you put it back the same way every time. Check EVERYTHING carefully. Don't want the throttle lever hanging up.

Ok thanks for the heads up guys I appreciate it.
I'm gonna get our local faba carb rebuilder Dana to build me a core. It will go with the theme of my car I'm trying to portray. I want it to appear as original as possible I know they didnt offer a 1975 dart swinger in a performance package but I'm trying to build a car that "if" they would have this is what I would have ordered type car! Lol kinda of a clone of something they never made I guess haha.
I sould love to find an orginal 75 4bbl air cleaner I'd buy it and use it. I found a thermoquad core on Ebay it's a 1975 360 carb so it will match my combo too!
One more question the carb in question I'd a CA California carb. Are they any different are they ok cores?

yes, California carbs are different. they may cause cancer

Any leads on an original air cleaner?
I should also include the word affordable! Lol

If you are going with a stock carburetor then I would go with a correct air cleaner.

I'd go with a stock 1975 4 bbl. Air cleaner. They were not that rare on C bodies. Get on FCBO and find a gent "C body Bob" and you can get a stock lid for a 360 4 bbl. For pretty cheap.

Then if you want more air flow then turn the lid upside down. (Old skool trick) but keeps the timeless stock look

Velocity stack with an air cleaner on top will definitely clear that carburetor and that will allow you to cut a hole in the hood.. :D

That’s cheap stuff.
Doesn’t AutoZone has cheapie air cleaners?
Next order at or near $100 at Summit, add a cheap air cleaner.

Here is the one I have!

The base is the main concern. Many are styled like the K&N base that I had to modify. Installing only the base pan while watching & feeling for any unwanted contact with the pump and throttle arm travel can help determine any fitment issues.

Hey Myron, Don't forget the clearance between the carb vent stacks and the bottom of the air cleaner lid. You are the one that solved this issue I was having a few years ago. If you remember, the car was nosing over at about 4500rpm. We all brainstormed on here for a couple days, the you suggested proper ventilation could be an issue. I went to a taller filter...… Wala, problem solved.

Why not run the air cleaner you have?

I am going to for now. This is an old thread at the time I wasn't sure if it was gonna fit but it does some im gonna run it. I am gonna have to get a different base the one I have is an offset base and the stud isn't long enough for the thermoquad. I could rig up a new stud if I wanted to I guess. I want a original one eventually tho. Lol I like that stock original look.

Summit sells spacers of various thickness that go between the carb and aircleaner.
