Stop in for a cup of coffee

Happy Friday and hope it is a good one! For those of you that pay attention to the moon and her cycles she was in full throat last night. Simply georgeous. I came home from work to a flooded basement, our sump pump crapped out. Today is cleanup day as I got the sump swapped out last night. At this point I can't even stand up straight yet from all the yoga I did bailing water and working on sump. It sucked. At least it wasn't gray water. It was all the snow melt, my hands were numb. We just have some small piles of snow hanging on but for most part we are thawed out.

Disabled your supposed to be able to take it at 60. If not I am screwed!
SSDI you have to apply for it. I know several who have applied at that age (60) and been accepted within a month or two.
Some though initially rejected had to appeal through the SS administrative hearing process to get it.
You could apply tomorrow. Biggest thing you can't have is a earned income above poverty level. Retirements or other disability don't count.

That had to suck, but glad you got it done. Take the day off, besides its Friday!!

Why is it so tough to get benefits?
They have a process and most just don't want to do it. You have to submit a 40 page application.
Its reviewed and you can be accepted or you get an appointment with the investigator.
Following that you are either accepted or rejected.
If rejected you can appeal. If you loose your appeal you can reapply within a year.
Basically you have to show you cannot work due to your disabilities.
Those accepted under age 55 are subject to review every three to five years.
Most over 55 aren't and go on regular SS at their age group.

Seems like the first 3/4 years i had water in my basement for one reason or another.
Sump hose broke, pump died, outside line split and water just recirculated.
This year the float switch hung up,but we caught it. By we, i mean my wife. Then of course the yelling from the basement starts yelling-like the house is on fire!
Jeez..

Morning!

Woke up this morning with a kinked neck and a headache.. Took the garbage out and now drinking a big cup of coffee. Its a start to a beautiful day off...Well minus the headache.

Happy Friday everyone. Have the day off today. Going to talk mom out looking for cars. She live in BFE northern WI with several miles of gravel road to drive to and from the house. Needs a smaller SUV with AWD.

Subie, I like that. Tons of those around here. We have had a Subaru dealer here since the FF1's came out. Sold at the local Yamaha dealer.

I was service advisor at the local Buick/GMC/Subaru dealer when the Brats first came out. Those were cool.

As much as I'd like an Eagle, a Subie would be better for mom - asssuming there's dealers and mechanics for them in that part of the state.
