This is something that I have been going to put together for some time now.
I have done this to two OEM senders now.

I have one in "Ole Blue" and it works like new.

This is far to long for a post so I created this PDF with photos.

I hope this will help a few folks get their OEM senders working again.

Herb

Herb, If you can convert the PDF to our How To Articles format, I'd love to include it

Thought I would check this out, as the '71 Swinger I am getting (hopefully be getting it next weekend) has a gas gauge issue (doesn't work). So, I will be working on that, asap. Enjoyed the PDF too, very well done.

Thank You...

I see we are "Neighbors". I live West of Jessiville Ar off of Hwy 298.

We looked at properties around the Perryville area before buying here.

Looks great. Thanks to "6pk2goDemon" and "Dart67" for making this happen!:thumbsup:
I am surprised no one has figured out how to rewire , or build a proper size
and shaped one to start with, would be a seller for sure !
.

For the record... solder will not stick to the resistor wire. Adding solder to their mechanical/riveted connections may not hurt anything but may not help much either.

I realize that.. But by soldering the rivet with the wire "IN" the solder it helps secure the connection that much more.

Even though I have lived in Arkansas all of my life, except for a year in Georgia, I am not sure where you are. I have lived in the NLR, LR, Barling & Greenwood area, before moving here, when my I started taking care of my Dad, before he passed in 2014. always nice to find someone on a forum, from Arkansas.

Just North of Hot Springs and Hot Springs Village then West about 6 miles...

My wife's mom and dad are from McCrory, and my best friend's husband's people are from the hot springs area.
