I agree that an original 3 core will be quite comparable to the Champion. I'd rather see him get his recored rather than getting a 3 row aluminum but Chief's motor is built up pretty good. It's quite possible it's going to run a little on the hot side and since it is not 'all original', the big two row will be a lesser investment and definitely out cool a 3 row copper/brass recore. Adding a big 2 row makes a lot of sense in this situation.
