And you thought I was just whining about our streets.

This is our main 4 lane street running through town, so imagine hitting that with your classic and not being totally pissed about the city buying 20k bronze statues for the front of the civic center instead of fixing the damn streets.

A couple of months ago, a report surfaced that FL spent 4.8 million on non-native palm trees to line toll roads.

...while the tolls increased by 33% during that time.

Oh yea, well we have an ex cop that just got elected Mayor that was outed from the local PD for stealing drugs out of the evidence locker and sharing them with his also PD buddies.
It's not public knowledge, but I know people that know him.

He approached the Wife and I in a public and crowded area asking for our vote, and I asked him about being allowed to "retire" from the PD or be charged with stealing the drugs and he damn near ran to get away from me, so I followed him insisting rather loudly that he answer my question surrounding the circumstances of his retirement.
He literally jogged down the sidewalk away from us.

He was also one of the main officers involved in a high speed chase (In town) that ended with three teens dead who were hit by the guy running from them.
There was a pretty big deal over the deaths and the speeds reached (in town) being the cause, but he came out of it with little more than a reprimand, while the "perp" got over 35 years for murder.

Seems the older I get the more I call these A holes out.:D

i hit an intersection about a 2 weeks ago, in the duster...almost rattled my teeth out
course, as soon as i hit it, my duster died

i pulled over, tried to start it again
she cranked just fine but wouldnt fire not a pop

i couldnt get it going again, so i came back later with a buddy with a truck and a tow strap
you know how guys are, we popped the hood and tired to get it going
my buddy said he saw a spark jump, reached over need the fire wall and plugged something back in, fired right up

apparently, our michigan roads are so bad, it didnt only rattle my fillings, but it also rattled some electrical connections loose

as the saying goes, the roads in Michigan actually get better in the winter, because it takes about 4 inches of snow to fill up a pothole

Our "big" intersection has been marred with a multitude of "Drifter donuts". Apparently the mini racers needed a "Trend" to alert them to the fact that car can do donuts.

Oh, now, TB, that road looks plenty good on Google, so you know this ain't true LOL

Is that a state road, or a county road, or a municipal road? Or, does it have a US highway number? What entity is responsible for it's repair?

The PA turnpike is 11.8 BILLION DOLLARS IN DEBIT. That's not Million guys that's BILLIONS!!!!!! Every time you turn around they're raising the tolls. To put this in perspective, they have more debt than the entire state of Pennsylvania. Wow, why isn't someone being fired for this. Unbelievable mismanagement of funds. Rant Over LOL

I seen the state bird a Cardinal taking a bath the other day in a pot hole on the street behind my house.
I guess if the state/municipality fixes the pot holes, the birds will have nowhere to take a bath.

My wife hit a pot hole in her challenger last year and did $3500.00 in damage, bent up all the independent rear struts and arms and busted the rear wheel bearing housing.

TURNPIKES !
Back about 40-50 yrs ago, the head of the Okla. turnpike authority made a little over a million a yr. , wonder what he makes now ?!
Was supposed to be a free road to OKC from Tulsa , after it was paid for "way the hell back then." They have steadily increased the toll over the yrs. to "supposedly" keep it up !
Much like all the other overpaid dishonest ''screw the public" authority and politicians we have now.

Don't get me going. It's criminal. We pay a lot of tax dollars and so much gets wasted on programs that effect .001 percent of the population, non contributors or opposing progress . In addition to the potholes, the habit of paving the right side of a lane needs to stop. You get water pooling and the edge catches your tire and redirects your vehicle. It's dangerous enough riding my motorcycle with the texters and people who cross lanes but we also gotta keep an eye on the pavement. Most of the roads that do get repaved only last a few years due to low bid skim coats, shoddy work and crappy materials. The roads are so far gone in my state that they will never be right again. I'm not big on our lawsuit crazed mentality but I really think that local, state and federal municipalities need to be held accountable when accidents and damage are caused by road hazards.

i remember back in the old country, roadpaving contracts came with warranties
which means that if a road did not last, say 5 years, the company that got paid to pave them, now had to fix it for free

i would expect the same from any company i do business with, but i guess the government doesnt see it that way

Here it only takes a sprinkle to provoke potholes on every asphalt street. Must be because the streets have no drainage system. I was so pleased the night they used concrete to replace the asphalt on our street, I filmed a 3 minute video:

Take the bill to the state road, they will refund you the repair money.
At least they will in WV.

WV has no potholes. Haha. Love your roads. You were lucky to have senator Byrd. He really took care of you guys. All of our money goes straight to NYC.
