Anybody running 440 4006452 heads on a 383?

Still working on sourcing near zero deck pistons, so far n/a. Keith Black tech support has been good, but we just don't know why the pistons are so low in the hole. Machine shop has no answers, other than using dome piston, which I don't want for many reasons.....I'd like flat tops within .012 TBD

You have to mill the block to end up with zero deck height. With the above part number you will need to mill about .0265 off the deck to get zero deck height. Most machine shops will deck a block for around 150 bucks. It's highly recommended anyway with a Chrysler block because their deck tolerances were terrible and they are almost always out of spec.

I would go zero deck. If you want the piston in the hole, you can just subtract that amount from the total I posted above.
