I've got 2 issues I need some advice with.

1. I have a 67 barracuda. Fuel sending unit is bad and needs to be replaced. The replacement units look like they have a fuel return line on them for 1967. Mine doesn't look like it has a return.... so Im at a loss on what I need to buy to make this work.

2. When I go to turn the engine off and I turn the key in the ignition to the off position the starter briefly engages for a split second and I hear it grind on the flywheel for just a second. How do I get it to stop doing that?

For #1.You haven't searched enough. Basic and proper for your model 5/16 senders without a return are available. At the same time, the aftermarket senders aren't correct in electrical function. Best plan is to have the OEM sender restored.
For #2. Sounds like a bad ignition switch to me. Set up a test lamp on yellow wire at starter relay. Watch for test lamp to flash as switch is rotated.

Note: make sure you use a non steel object such as a copper pipe to avoid any sparking when removing the lock ring. Make sure you have a good ground on the sending unit as well.

And re use the locking ring, new ones just don't seal tight enough.

Interesting. New sender in mine doesn’t register either. Old unit was fine but figured since all was new. A new sender was in order. Maybe I’ll replace it with old one with a new sock

The extra vent line is a great way to add an extra tank vent, especially if you`ve ever experienced fuel filling slosh/ belching.

I had this conversation with someone on here before and they walked me thru how to test one. I can't remember what thread it was I will search and get back to you.

Actually the tool to use, is a "brass" drift or punch.
