Red Headed Stepchild-75 Swinger LSX Swap

Damn.....yer gonna have one hell of an awesome car pretty soon!
Be careful and not hurt yourself with it....and insure it well!

When I had Stingrays, over on the Corvette forum, we all watched along as this guy built this BAD A$$ Stingray. ....only for him to kill himself with it shortly after finishing the build...

But you seem more level headed than that!

Jeff
Oh wow that is awful. I know I guy who was alot more lucky but had a similar experience. He built this badass 69 camero is was absolutely beautiful. But he put all his money in the body and engine. When it was all said and done he had a 600+hp 454 big block with 40 year old manual steering and x4 drum brakes! He hadn't even put it on the road yet (so no tags no insurance) and decided to take it for a test spin on his road and he got going way to fast and when he hit the brakes they locked!! He wrapped it around a tree and completely totaled it. But he was fortunate to walk away unharmed other than a headache! And about 20k poorer.

Luckily I thought ahead and replaced all my lines and pieces with the exception of the calipers up forward with all new parts and have bleed them 2x -3x through. Its terrible to hear stories like that though.

Should hopefully have completed pics of the darts exhaust Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks to the third snafu with my USPS driver in the last month and a half, my parts just showed up yesterday, 4 days late because she left it at the back of the truck and couldn't find it. So now all the rest of my parts are dropped off and the process can continue on the passenger side exhaust.

Also, since I've had the rear sway bar still sitting in the trunk of the car since 2015 waiting on a rear end big enough to put it on, and Jeremy already has the car up in the air. I'm going to go ahead and have him weld up the two pieces i need him too so the last piece of the Hotchkis TVS kit will be complete for when the car comes out. Fingers crossed by this weekend.

Well we were avout to start on the rest of the passenger side stuff when the mopar gods lashed out one last time.

Drive side snapped while sitting in the parking lot. Luckily it did it there and not on the road. So I just ordered a set of PST 1.03 bars, clips and poly bushings. Once those are in we can get back to the exhaust.

Ouch, I'm sure glad that didn't happen when you were flying down the road at 300 MPH! You will like the 1.03 T-bars, I put some on my Dart not to long ago and its one of the best things I've done for my car.

I debated getting them when I did all the rest if the suspension but u listened to an old mopar guy and kept the stock ones because they seemed like they would transfer the weight to the back tires alot easier.

Hind sight being what it is I should have replaced them then. I mean I replaced every other darn part on the suspension. Live and learn. Hopefully were good to go by the weekend.

Got the new 1.03 PST bars in the mail today and threw em right in the Dart. Now she's back and level.

I also fixed a dangliing wiring issue with a fixed power post on the firewall. Its go my starter wire, the feed from the trunk and the 12v hit for the fuse box connected to it.

Dart is back on the lifts bow for the passenger side to get finished.

And my Cf vinyl pieces for the center radio section and glove box will be here today as well. I think I'll cover the wood grain on the doors with the CF vinyl I used on the guage cluster as well.

Also my new favorite picture.

I'll be cutting my own pieces to finish the rest of the wood grain In the interior on the door panels and such myself. More progress on the exhuast side as well today. Pics/video to follow soon.

Passenger side done.

I also got the driverside rear done but ran out of material for the driverside door. So that's on tomorrow's list.

But here is a small workaround video of how the interior is coming out.

In case you didnt know, I love it.

Where do you get this carbon fiber stuff from? yes I know it's a sticker. LOL

Looks good. I like it. When are you going to start driving this thing? Once I got mine back on the road I realized how much better a car it is now. The EFI is awesome and it isn't even tuned perfectly yet. You are really going to enjoy having a modern engine and the turbos will be the icing on the cake.

Literally as soon as this damn exhaust is done. A friend is doing it at his shop in between people rushing their stuff in nonstop. Its a automotive shop first, custom car building side second. Maintenance pays the bills faster that custom stuff. lol So I'm continuing to work on it and get things accomplished that I planned to do anyway while I'm waiting on him to finish the exhaust, so I can get it to the tuner.

Interior is done now.

Here's how she sounds. Idle is still high till the tuns is done on speed density.

Also found these barely used set of Hoosier 26x10x15s locally. Which is about all the tire I can fit. So I'm gon a grab a spare set of 15x8s to put these on.

I know things arent ramping up as fast as you all would like. Originally I was under the impression that I didnt need the front upstream 02 sensors seeing as I was going to run a wideband and the speed density table would take care of the rest of the tune regarding fuel delivery on the open loop side. However for a street car it's better to let the 02 sensors and the computer do the fuel management during part throttle and cruising. Being a street car and not a 1/4 mile at a time car, I opted to add the factory 02's back in. So I pulled the downpipes off today, bungs are being welded in tomorrow and I'll have them coated and wrapped along with the wastegate dumps and back on the car before the weekend so I can try to knock everything out for the tune next week hopefully as long as I can drive it over there.

Wheels for the slicks will be here tomorrow as well.

Wheels and slicks are mounted.

Exhaust pieces are coated again and wrapped where they need to be. I left the tip of the exhuast piece stainless and the wastegate dump black since it was mild steel.

Those slicks are gonna pull wheelies!

Jeff
I hope so.

Got the wires run to the 02 sensors today. Had to extend the driverside wires about 3 feet to reach but they're routed and good to go now. Also got the wideband routed up under the dash and to the sensor as well and got her sat back on the ground. Hope to pull it out under its own power tomorrow and do a little drive to make sure it's all good before getting her to her tuning session.
