[WANTED] 1968 Barracuda dash pannel light holder

It's the 5/8 socket, available at any part store, typically on the HELP LINE rack.
 
The 1/2 inch ones are the most common seems like. Don’t buy them, they don’t work. Been there, done that......
 
I checked the Help section at AZ and AA,, they both had the 1/2 inch version, which I recognized as fitting the dash in my '83 D150,
but neither had a 5/8 inch version.
Went home and checked the Dorman web site, I could find the 1/2 inch version there but not the 5/8 inch.
Went on e bay and found NOS Dorman 5/8 inch instrument panel sockets, the part number on those packs is 643-020, that
number is not recognized at the Dorman site. I am not saying that the 5/8 inch sockets are not available as new-new stock, saying
I could not find them.
 
Google 5/8 dash light socket & you will get a bunch of hits. Amazon & Napa have them

My thinking was I wont replace just one or two. They're all the same age after all. I'll buy 8 sockets, 8 bulbs, and done for many years. I've told every rally panel owner I've dealt with, "You don't want to R&R this panel repeatedly for one fault after another. Do everything you can do to renew it while you have it out." anyway..
First I bought a box of 10 sockets for cheap at ebay. They started failing after approx' 5 years. First left turn was found on the floor mat. Of course it was a impossible to access location. Bulb heat wasn't a factor there either. Next failure was illumination between center pod and right pod, Then the right turn. Back to the market.
I found Echlin to be the most expensive out there. Standard was middle of price range. Sorry I don't have their part number or what vendor had the best price and shipping on them.
Only two years in now. Time will tell. I have about 40, maybe 50 bucks in these 8 bulbs and sockets.

5 for $4. used 67-72 OEM. Watch the repops when they get hot some of them get soft and fall out. Some are good but not all. Fitment is loose on some also three different styles. Look at pictures close
