My son Judas

I agree. I remember cruising Ridge Rd in Fort Lee N.J. by the GW bridge in the early 90s. My.buddy had an 84 firebird he dropped a mild 350 in. Thought he had a hot rod. We were at Ridge Rd. At a traffic light, and a primered 69 RR rolls up with Hemi badging on the hood. I tell John not to race him. He decides its a good idea. Light turns green, Mr. Beep Beep leaves him at the light with us choking on tire smoke. I couldent stop laughing told him he was like the coyote in the earner bros cartoon shows. I eventually drew a pic of his firebird engulfed in smoke with Wile E Coyote behind the wheel.
Lol, reminds me of a story of youth. My buddy Mike had a 72 Nova ss, 350 4 speed. Nice quick little car. We are driving south on 14th street in Calgary Alberta one evening, we pull up to a light beside a 70 Chevelle (ironically for this thread) with 454 badges on it. The car sounds tough, and the driver is probably in his mid to late forties(has way more money than us) with what looked like his father riding shotgun. Same story, I tell Mike not to bother, he decides to go for it. Mike is watching the light on the cross street to watch for it to go red so he can get a good jump on the Chevelle as our light goes green. Wham, out flies the clutch, Nova jumps, then we hear the Chevelle get nasty! It was over before we reached the cross walk on the far side of the intersection, the two in the Chevelle had a grin on their faces like the guys in the Bullit Charger when they thought they shook McQueen. Oh the joys of youth when you are game for anything!
