Bought myself a 72 swinger couple years back with the intentions of doing building a 10 sec weekend toy. It's definitely taking a while to learn what the right parts are and how to, but it's fun to start with something basic and build it into what you want. Bought it for $1500, came pretty complete with a 318 and 904 in it (although not running). The original plan was to do a 400 big block swap that i also got with the sale, but come to find out the block was bad. So my engine builder sold me a 360 he had laying around with a 408 stroker kit. Going to be putting a procharger on to make some decent power, have a ford 9" coming, installed mini tub kit and leaf spring relocation brackets for the mono-leaf suspension i'm running, got a cage, torque boxes, and subframe connectors installed, next couple purchases will be K-member and transmission.

Nice! I like it, what specs on the 408? What gears you putting in the nine"?

Brodix heads, Comp cams custom cam, edelbrock rpm intake, harland sharp 1.5 rockers. haven't ran it yet, just had it built. the 9" will have 3.89 gears to start out with and see how it goes.

Wasn't a huge fan of the mini tub kit, mainly because the filler peices didn't want to match up properly on both sides but it works. Tires are 325/50 15. They fit so far, I'm hoping the rear ends comes to exact measurement so I don't have to do anything.

Ya lol I really struggled to get my mini tub kit right and the brackets they gave me for trunk hinges couldn't even be used.

Making a little bit of progress, Got the RMS suspension delivered, along with brakes and wheels. Just got to do some metal work before i bolt it all together and have it sitting on all four tires again! Rear end needs to be moved back a little and it will be all done.

Thanks! I have been using a wire wheel wherever I can and sand paper in tight areas. Going to close up some of the holes in the firewall then primer/ paint the engine compartment.

That turned out really well. I figured you had a top secret method, I wouldn't have thought that you could get it that clean with a wire wheel.
