Cruise control on a ‘66 Valiant

I put one in my '69 Dart 340.

I placed the unit under the dash and ran the push/pull cable to the carb through a cut firewall insulation plug. It's really concealed and is not visible under the factory air cleaner.

I also wired a factory 1970 cruise control turn signal switch from a B body for a period correct look.

I used the metal speedo cable module which bolted in without the adapter cable. Some clearance grinding on the metal cable module to clear the transmission cross member was required as well as some grinding on a cross member bolt.

I absolutely love having cruise control. I installed it prior to doing the HOTROD Power Tour where we were driving to the tour for 10 hours and home from the tour for 14 hours.

The only issue I had was surging after I installed it but was resolved when I reduced the sensitivity to low on the gain.

Works amazing! Holds the speed really well.
