I feel panheadchuck's pain, i got took to the cleaners on abodies and when i finally got in contact with the turd who scammed me, i just told him i would go to hell and back to find him, what does he do , calls the administrator (Joey) saying i threatened him, so what happened got banned from a bodies for 2 years, the asshole that scammed me even had balls enough to call me after he scammed me to say he and his friends had one hell of a party on my money. I drove 5 hours one way to take a warrant out for him, also run a background check, he burned a historic hotel lighting a fatboy with a brown paper bag at age 16, he had 5 alias and 4 addresses, and a criminal record 2 sheets long and him only 34, but i was the one who got the bad deal ,trying to explain to the admin. of this site to pull up his record and all it took for him to get me banned was to call Joey and say i threatened him, all i had done is answer his smartass statement that i wouldn't drive 300 miles to take out a warrant for him, thats when i told him i would go to hell and back after him for what he scammed me for.So when someone gets screwed out of his money the last thing he needs is someone come along and tell you how dumb you are, and if you don't try to save money on parts and tools, then i'm glad you have a fat wallet, but this thread is the reason people leave a bodies, and reason i have quit posting, but i thought you should show a little compassion ,instead of saying how dumb someone is ,they are done hurt from being screwed without you rubbing it in like a 5th grader. As far as you panheadchuck, call the FTC and report it, if they are listed as a business, you can file a complaint if they didn't give you what they advertised.
Did you leave negative feedback on the scammer?

Can you post the scammers name/handle?
Sorry you got burned.

If he bought an engine, perhaps he cannot build his own. If there is a member in his area that can help, maybe he could offer up some supper and a 12 pack or pay a little something for said member to lend a hand. Just a thought.

So I went back and read this thread again because I didn't really understand why he got so butthurt last night.
I take 2 things away from this.
1) he didnt get scammed or ripped off he received the engine at the price they agreed upon! The only thing he didnt receive is a cam card! I would be upset if I paid 15 grand and didnt get a cam card but I wouldn't consider it a scam as a matter of fact I dont see anywhere in the description of the add where it says a cam card is included.
2) the OP jumped the gun on calling the ppl who was trying to help him out assholes lol
3) you stated that you havent even started the engine yet so how are you gonna leave negative feedback and rip this company over a product you haven't even tried?? Because of you didn't receive a cam card??

this is why I do and will always put together my own ****, so I know for a fact exactly what's there, and if it fails, I can't put it on anyone but me.

I feel exactly the same way... I build my own engines myself so I know that it's done right and the way I like/want it to be.... If it blows-up/breaks, it's all on me...

If he were close to me, I could give him a hand, but his avatar only says he's in "USA"...

If he's near Chicago, he should give me a shout if he needs help going through the engine...

Yeah. I need therapy now. Where's my Fireball?

I'm sending you to Group Therapy....

It does seem like OP is in over a huge uproar over a cam card but it's more than that.... Delays, excuses, and not delivering. I bet they were johnny on the spot when it was time for the money grab part of the deal.....

Remember that if he goes to sell the motor for some reason one of the first questions will be the cam card. But I agree it's not a scam but another example of a business not following through with what they promised. The flip side is if it runs as it should most of the pain goes away but the pain should have never been there to begin with. Not when you drop 15k on a small block....

Yea I agree with that.
The OP hasn't been back on since he posted this and called us all assholes. I hope that he will come back on and let us know what happens with the engine.

If Mike is still with MM, I am sure he will get what you need. He had been brutally slow with somethings I needed in the past. From a business perspective, my last motor that I purchased from them did not last as long as I had expected and when taken apart, it was clear it was a rush job. I got what I paid for, but wouldn’t have paid for what I got. I did not know any better at the time. Andrew

If I had 15K to drop on an engine, my butt would have flown in, picked it and any associated paperwork up and flown back home. Can buy a 15K dollar motor but won't go get it in person. That even sounds stupid. No way would I make a purchase that big and not put my grubby mitts on it first.

Daddy said it best. "A fool and his money are soon parted"

I'm not sure how much it it would cost to build 600hp but it does seem like 15k could build a really nice engine at a local machine shop. Especially if you did your homework and gathered up the parts yourself.

Panheadchuck, dont let a few people on here ruin your buy, some was talking about how you should have built your own motor, they don't realize that some of us don't have time and a place along with the tools to build from the bottom up, so i wish you luck, and i realize plain talk is easy understood, but when you are posting something trying to help the masses on A bodies and all they do is insult, its very easy to drop off a bodies and never post again, We have a saying here in the Appalachian mountains ,for people who insult us ,and think they are smarter than us, UP YOUR *** ,WITH MOBILE GAS.

I really dont feel anyone was trying to insult him. I understand that text can come off different than intended. If I came off that way i apologize. I am truly sympathetic about his situation. I would like to have some more info before we go string up MM tho lol
What part of the Appalachians are you from? I'm in them too!

Yeah, sorry, don’t think he’ll be back for a second round of ripping on him..

If you want it bad, you get it bad...

Daddy said it best. "A fool and his money are soon parted"

I had to use that once when a guy was trying to get me to pay for a 440 that I was supposed to pick up and he didn't have it pulled yet... He claimed to be "Waiting for his guy to pull it..."

I said that I would pay him when it was pulled and I was picking it up...

He wanted me to pay cash up front when I showed up to pick up the two engines that I was supposed to get from him, luckily one was pulled and I paid for and picked up that one... I told him that I'm just trying to keep a fool and his money from getting parted and if I had to pay up front I would send him a money order in the mail when I got home, that way if he didn't come through I could press federal charges against him... He shut up and stopped pressing me for the money after that...

I'm still waiting for him to call me to pick up the engine, and it's been over 8 years now.... (I doubt that he still has it....)

However I do have the money that he wanted me to pay for it....

Nobody ripped him. He ripped us first when he cursed us. If people cannot see that in this thread, they are blind.
a guy posts on here saying
1) he bought a product at a discounted price
2) the product was fairly expensive
3) he had no face to face contact or on-going relationship with the seller
4) he made no real attempt to protect his payment

and he posts, not complaining about the product, but complaining severely about the
lack of documentation for the product, for which there is no real evidence provided that
shows 100% that the documentation was part of the deal. And by the way, all of that documentation
should have been available to the buyer prior to him making full payment. A smart buyer would want
to see the cam card and dyno results prior to making full payment.

so the consensus response here is that the buyer did not make a lot of good decisions in that
particular buy. And the original poster gets defensive..
Well,,,
Some times the truth hurts. But it is still the truth.

reminds me of the saying that goes something like:

"Life is hard, make poor decision and life gets harder."
