Broken heart

Yesterday, me and a friend were testing transmission line pressures on Jason’s Valiant.

It was a 4 year restoration project. The build thread can be seen here.

Father, Son, and Grand Father project. 1963 Valiant

Just after shifting into third gear, the drivetrain locked up sending us into a slide on a rural black top road.

I went opposite lock to try to keep it straight, but with the rear tires locked up there’s only so much you can do.

We hit a culvert with the left front and went air born.

We are both ok, just a little sore. Jason is just glad that we’re both ok.

But he is deviststed. Destroyed.

It could have been a lot worse. I know. But after those thoughts passed, I was left knowing that I broke my sons heart. He sacrificed all the normal things that 16 year olds spend there money on, just to put it into his car.

I put up a wanted ad for the fender and valance panel. But any parts that you have or know of someone who has, let me know.

We’re going to try to pull it apart today and tomorrow and survey the damage. But so far it doesn’t seem to bad.

I can fix a car. But I also have to fix a broken heart.

Thank you for listening to my ramblings. Thank you for being here for the last 4 years. And thank you for always being the village that helped raise this child into the great respectful young man that he is.

I feel silly for even posting this here. There are people out there with a lot bigger problems than this. I just needed to talk. I’m sorry for sounding whiney. Lol.

Like all things, this too shall pass.

Thanks. Eric.
