So we are getting ready to take a nonscoop Duster hood and put factory (1970 Dart, 69 Superbee) scoops on it (and yes we'll cut in the air holes). I've done this a few times on 70-71 Dart/Demon hoods, but we flipped the Duster hood and there are NO CUES like holes in the underhood frame of a Dart hood that make that so easy. Can some of you guys/gals help us out by posting some pictures of original Duster hoods with those scoops installed? We are looking for shots of the underside of the hood so we can see where the holes are in relation to the hood frame. We could also use some basic measurements like the distance from the middle of the back scoop edge to the back edge of the hood and the distance from the front outside corner of the scoop to the side edge of the hood. Of course if somebody is making a template we'd be glad to buy one!

Can show bottom tmro

Yellow hood is 71...blue hood is 70...both have pilot holes from factory...u have seen hood from 69 valiant with no holes underneath..would still be possible to do just use a 3/4" bit to make pilot holes and 4"bit for fresh air...hope this helps...just take your time...measure twice cut once

Thanks Mtrhead! This car is an original 1970 318 Duster, but like you described for the 1969 Valiant it has none of the holes in the hood frame. I'm sure I'll PM you soon asking for specific measurements.

Still Need Help!!! The Duster hood that we are working with has no scoop nut access holes drilled in the frame. We need someone with an original dual scoop Duster hood to make two measurements from the little holes in the hood frame for the hood pad retainers to the hood scoop stud as indicated on the picture below. This will give us two known stud locations so we can accurately locate the scoop on the hood. Thanks in advance for any help!!!
